Field Service Engine Technician

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engine Technician to perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel and gas engines and related power generation equipment in the City of Industry, CA area. This role requires strong hands-on experience working with industrial engines, generator systems, and electrical controls in a field service environment.

Starting wage for an Advanced Technician will depend on experience and education. $47.60-$60.71

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel and natural gas engines
  • Perform field service repairs, preventative maintenance, and overhauls on industrial equipment
  • Work on CAT, Cummins, Kohler, and Detroit Diesel engines and systems
  • Troubleshoot engine controls, fuel systems, and electrical components
  • Service generator sets and power systems (5 kW – 3200 kW)
  • Work with and diagnose Tier 4 aftertreatment systems (DPF, DEF)
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Respond to emergency repair situations in the field
  • Maintain detailed service documentation and provide updates to customers
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and procedures

 

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience as a diesel or field service engine technician
  • Strong experience with industrial diesel engines
  • Familiarity with CAT, Cummins, Kohler, or similar engine platforms
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Tier 4 / aftertreatment systems preferred
  • Ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation

One-year certificate or Associates degree from a community college or technical school; Five plus year's heavy equipment experience or equivalent education and experience.
