Power Systems Field Service Technician - Electrical Services
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair electric power generation equipment including gas and diesel powered generators, electrical transfer switches, electrical switchgear, circuit breakers and other related equipment
- Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhere to all safety procedures; maintain a service vehicle in a clean and professional manner, and ensure the vehicle is properly maintained
- Positively interact with manager and team members to satisfy customer needs
- Provides assistance to other technicians as needed in regard to troubleshooting repairs
- Communicate job status with supervisor and communicate when the job is completed to receive subsequent assignments.
- Submit a detailed service report explaining work that was completed and also document any deficiencies that will need to be addressed with the customer.
- Service reports should be submitted daily after completion of a job.
- Document labor and additional segments to assure service calls can be closed, invoiced and communicated to the customer.
- Willing to respond to after hour emergency calls as directed by supervisor.
- Identify and communicate parts needs for service calls or inventory
- Performs other duties as assigned/required
Qualifications:
- 2-year technical degree or high school diploma and several years of comparable electrical services experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in troubleshooting & repair of electrical gear and generators
- Knowledge of electricity and electronics, engine diagnostics, failure analysis
- Possesses the ability to diagnose all equipment without supervision; is also able to read, follow, understand, and communicate schematics.

- Ability to maintain safe and clean work environment and operate equipment safely
- Willing and able to respond to after-hour emergency calls as directed by supervisor
- Basic computer skills
- Own mechanic tool set
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record
- Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one within a defined period of time
- Obtain a DOT medical certification card
- Pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen & physical
- Able to operate equipment safely
- This role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirement
