Are you a skilled Boilermaker looking for your next challenge? WesTrac is seeking experienced professionals to join our dynamic Rebuilds team at our Tomago Branch, where you'll play a key role in restoring and maintaining some of the industry's most powerful machines.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for the structural repair and maintenance of Off-Highway Trucks (OHTs), Dozers, Graders, and Drills—including models such as 789, 793, 777, D10, and D11—as well as various auxiliary equipment.

This is a hands-on role requiring precision, teamwork, and a strong safety focus.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform carbon and air arc gouging (3XP)
  • Conduct Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Carry out rust repairs, panel work, chassis and crack repairs
  • Execute work on radius corners
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings and blueprints


Rosters & Remuneration

  • Monday to Friday | 50-hour week
  • Rotating Day/Night Shifts:
    • Day: 06:00–16:30
    • Night: 18:00–02:30
    • Roster Pattern: 5D2O x2, 5N2O x2
  • Competitive hourly rates starting from $48+, with overtime rates from $72+
    Rates are indicative and will be based on your experience and competencies.


What We’re Looking For

  • Cert III in Engineering – Fabrication (Australian trade recognised)
  • Experience in OXY/Thermal cutting, heating, and thermal lancing
  • Skilled in carbon arc gouging and MIG welding (multiple wire applications)
  • Previous experience in mobile plant repairs highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to read, interpret, and manufacture from technical drawings
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
