Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic
- Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on heavy machinery, diagnose and troubleshoot problems, make recommendations for repairs and perform critical repairs and adjustments
- Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision
- Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
- Develop and maintain long-lasting working relationships with customers
- Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical and hydraulics
- General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments
- Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
- Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with CAT earthmoving equipment)
- Stable work history
- Knowledge of use of various heavy equipment and the ability to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
