Field Service Technician-Air Compressor

Position: We are currently seeking a Air Compressor Field Service Technicians for our Odessa, Texas office. The Service Technician performs field support activities, which involve start-up, preventive and corrective maintenance within the assigned territory. The selected candidate will possess the air compressor repair experience, knowledge, and skills for effective utilization of related equipment and proven troubleshooting processes and procedures. A sign-on bonus up to $5,000 is available for those qualified. Experience with Air Compressors is required.

 Responsibilities/Requirements:

  •  Must have 2-8 years electrical/mechanical industrial experience
  • Knowledge of customer equipment operations, able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must be able to correctly troubleshoot, repair all components and brands of air compressors including large electrical, centrifugal, oil-free, reciprocal piston equipment
  • Must be able to properly use multimeters, amp meters, vibration and infrared meters, megger.
  • Must be able to successfully perform the above while meeting the Company and Customer’s safety requirements as per OSHA requirements. Have oil field safety experience a plus
  • Read and comprehend P&I drawings, ID/GA drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, cleaning, and setting controls.
  • Must be able to set up rigging equipment and safely remove and reinstall motors, compressors, and associated components.
  • Must be able to safely use all hand tools and power tools such as drill motors, grinders, band saws, etc.
  • Understanding of high-pressure drill packages
  • Help with the manufacturing of skid packages for the oil field
  • Must have an understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic principles and components.
  • Technical understanding of electrical and electronic systems, microprocessors, VSD, Industrial
  • Control and Automation Management, Timers, Phase Monitors, Star and Triangle starting configuration, Soft Starters, Direct Starters, Variable Speed, PLC Management, Wye-Delta.
  • Knowledge of different types of piping such as types of copper, black, aluminum and galvanized installing blue Transair piping, fittings, and anchors.
  • Understanding and servicing of cooling towers, water quality management, and care.
  • Air Treatment, must understand regenerative dryers and controls, refrigerated dryers a plus
  • Diesel compressor troubleshooting, maintenance, and set up for rental fleet
  • Data logger installation, understand systems and install locations of devices.
  • EPA certifications with Freon experience are a plus.
  • Sullair factory-certified level one (minimum)
  • An excellent driving record and being able to drive a service van or pickup truck are required.
  • Complete paperwork daily
  • Provide on-call response during the assigned week
  • Spanish speaking is a plus to communicate with customers

 

Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have verifiable air compressor repair experience, be a team player, be self-motivated, and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • A strong background in mechanical and electrical is necessary.
  • Must have their own tools, meters, and refrigerated equipment to successfully complete all jobs assigned.
  • Must have a valid driver license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Professional Technical Institutional training preferred
  • Must be able to undergo a background process
