Facilities Maintenance Technician

Fecha de publicación del trabajo: 2025-12-17
Location:
Clayton, VIC, AU
We’re looking for a hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to keep our Clayton branch and head office running safely, efficiently, and looking its best. If you enjoy variety, take pride in your work, and like being the person everyone relies on to “get it sorted”, this could be the role for you.
About the role
Reporting to the Clayton Branch Manager (and working closely with Service, Parts and HSEQ), you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and presentation of our buildings, workshop, yard and facilities. No two days will look the same – one day you might be organising repairs to a hoist or pressure washer, the next you’re fixing a gate, coordinating contractors, or making sure our site is safe, clean and compliant.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Carrying out general repairs and preventative maintenance across the branch (buildings, workshop, yard, wash bay and office areas)
• Coordinating contractors and trades for specialised work (electrical, plumbing, fire services, etc.)
• Responding to maintenance requests and prioritising jobs to minimise disruption to operations
• Proactively identifying issues and raising recommendations to improve safety, reliability and presentation of the site
• Supporting HSEQ requirements – e.g. safety inspections, keeping work areas tidy, ensuring plant and equipment are in good working order
• Maintaining basic records of maintenance activities, contractor visits and inspection outcomes
• Assisting with small facilities projects, fit-outs or upgrades as required
About you
You’re practical, safety-focused and happy to roll up your sleeves. You enjoy problem-solving and take ownership from start to finish.
We’re looking for:
• Experience in a maintenance, facilities or similar hands-on role (industrial, automotive, manufacturing, warehousing or dealership environment ideal)
• Sound general maintenance skills – e.g. basic carpentry, fixing fixtures and fittings, minor plumbing, patch/paint, assembling and repairing equipment
• Ability to diagnose issues and decide when you can fix it yourself vs when to call in a contractor
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and contamination control
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with branch leaders, technicians, parts and external contractors
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
• Current driver’s licence (forklift licence or EWP ticket would be highly regarded)
• Relevant trade qualifications (e.g. carpentry, building maintenance, fitter, electrician) are a bonus but not essential if you bring strong practical skills and experience.
What we offer
• A stable, full-time role with a well-known heavy equipment brand
• Varied, hands-on work – no two days are the same
• Supportive team environment where your work is visible and appreciated
• Opportunities to be involved in site improvement projects
• Training and PPE for the role provided
