We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our high‑performing General Construction Branch in Tomago. Join our fast‑paced, high‑energy workshop that helps construction customers maximise uptime and get the most out of their CAT equipment.
As part of this dynamic team, you will support a wide range of customers by carrying out everything from servicing and preventative maintenance through to breakdown work, ensuring their machinery performs at its best in demanding environments.
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll work alongside skilled mechanics, apprentices and trade assistants who specialise in general construction machinery. If you bring strong mechanical expertise - especially Caterpillar experience – you will thrive in this environment and make an immediate impact.
Roster Options
- Monday to Friday roster – two weeks day shift, followed by two weeks night shift
- Annual earnings: $125,000 – $160,000*
*Above rates are a guide; each candidate will be assessed on skill and experience
Skills & Experience
- Strong technical and diagnostic skills with an Australian Recognised Mechanical Trade (Heavy Diesel or Mobile Plant)
- A genuine passion for CAT equipment and delivering high-quality service.
- Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining safety and compliance.
- Excellent attitude to your work, and dedication to safe work practices
- Ability to work autonomously in the field and in a team
- Current Drivers Licence
- Applicants with site bans are ineligible for Field Service Positions
