Equipment Delivery & Demonstrator
DESCRIPTION:
Operates heavy tandem trucks on and off the highways to delivery and demonstrate equipment. Has knowledge and skill to load, unload, and tie down various types of construction equipment, attachments and major components. Complies with DOT regulations and company safety practices applicable to hauling heavy equipment. Has knowledge of Company territory.
Compensation: up to $28.50 per hour.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Possesses a valid Commercial Driver's License. (Class A)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Possess a valid commercial driver’s license
- Ability and skill to load, unload and demonstrate equipment being transported
- Willing to work overtime when required
- Good working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, word processing programs
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Demonstrates to customer how to safely operate equipment being delivered
- Positions equipment/components on trailer, climbs on trailer to physically secure chains and load securement devices
- Lifts parts and equipment components that weigh no more than 50 pounds when assisting mechanics in equipment assembly or tear down
- Travels to company and customer locations to pick-up or deliver equipment and / or components
- Ensure that correct parts are delivered to customers; trip tickets being completed prior to leaving the store each trip
- Operates material handling equipment to load/unload equipment and components
- Loads, delivers and unloads Caterpillar and allied equipment and components
- Meets all DOT regulations and safety standards; including DOT physical exam and Commercial Driver's License requirements, including maintaining legally required DOT logs
- Maintains truck in safe and clean condition
- Maintain a high degree of discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information and exercise initiative in all assigned areas, high integrity and accountability standards
- Assist work team to meet the objectives of the department and the Company
- Obeys state and company rules of the road; follows all work and safety rules, and Fleet Safety program procedures
- Completes required daily logs, paperwork and records accurately and legibly
- May be required to work overtime and/or spend nights away from home if needed
- Recommend to manager ideas to improve the departments operating procedures or business practices and participate in and support continuous improvement of all related activities and processes
- Project a positive image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; display a professional attitude; comply with company dress code
- Create and maintain good communications (verbally and in writing) and relationships with other Company departments, branches, employees, outside vendors, and customers by addressing and resolving concerns quickly
