DESCRIPTION:


The On Highway Sales Manager directs and controls all sales activity in assigned region and implements sales policies in the respective sales region through direct supervision of Boyd Truck Center’s sales representatives to achieve sales, market share, and profit objectives.


REQUIREMENTS:



  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience

  2. Travel to branches or other locations as required to perform assigned duties

  3. Maintain a valid motor vehicle operators' license, CDL preferred

  4. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English

  5. Ability to operate a P.C. (Windows, Excel, Word, etc.)

  6. Able to climb on, operate, and inspect equipment, knowledgeable in truck specs

  7. Direct Sales Representatives to obtain sales, market share, and profitability

  8. 2+ years management experience preferred


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  1. Develop business and personal relationships with new, existing, or prospective customers at the appropriate level and monitor, improve relationships to maximize sales and ensure total customer satisfaction is achieved

  2. Supervise Sales Representatives to ensure proper sales coverage, customer relations, communications (oral and written), market intelligence, machine demonstrations, and expense control are met

  3. Travel with Sales Representatives to analyze and improve performance, territory coverage, management, and selling skills, and to foster a good working relationship

  4. Develop a thorough understanding and knowledge of assigned markets and products

  5. Develop merchandising/focus programs by communicating with manufacturers

  6. Develop market strategies to improve Company performance in assigned markets

  7. Submit annual business plan, achieve annual sales forecasts, objectives, and budgets

  8. Based on assigned market and product responsibilities and in conjunction with Sales and Marketing Division, develop focus-incentive/merchandising plans and develop/implement appropriate training initiatives for targeted market-product performance achievement

  9. Conduct sales meetings and training programs to ensure managers and sales representatives are knowledgeable and continue to expand their understanding of products, services, applications, markets, competitive activity, and selling skills

  10. Work closely with all Department Managers in order to support the business plan and branch objectives or in response to specific needs such as customer relations, a branch requirement, process improvement, etc.

  11. Ensure all Sales Standard Operating Procedures are followed by Sales Representatives

  12. Direct all "Key Account" activity in respective sales region for established Key Accounts

  13. Monitor, evaluate, and report overall market conditions, business activities and related industry developments and trends to determine their effect on the Company and propose appropriate responses

  14. Approve all sales deals and commissions promptly and accurately

  15. Work with employees to set aggressive professional and achievable goals to enhance performance

  16. Perform other duties as necessary and assigned
