Parts Person

DESCRIPTION:    

Receives, ships, and maintains inventory, fills parts orders, and performs other warehouse duties in an accurate, prompt, and safe manner under minimum supervision; operates material handling equipment.

Compensation up to: $25.25 an hour.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
3. Working knowledge and ability to operate fork lift, material handling equipment and hose equipment and tooling
4. Ability to complete paperwork and records, promptly accurately and legibly
5. Ability to lift parts and equipment components that weigh no more than 50 pounds to effectively fill customer orders – parts and equipment exceeding 50 pounds should be lifted with assistance from other employees or other equipment available
6. Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Fills orders for parts and allied merchandise in prescribed priority and procedures
2. Sells parts and assists “walk-in” customers with parts inquiries
3. While working with customers (both external and internal), identify the proper part numbers, check availability, recommend additional items and complete the parts order with a focus on great customer service
4. Lifts parts and equipment components that weigh a minimum of 70 pounds to effectively fill customer orders
5. Operates material handling equipment as required
6. Reads and comprehends parts orders, packing lists, and freight bills. Fills parts orders per requests
7. Assists Will Call and counter personnel for will call parts
8. Uses computer terminal to process and ensure accuracy of parts transactions, completes paperwork and records promptly, accurately and legibly
9. Operates material handling equipment when needed and authorized to do so
10. Projects a positive company image by interacting with fellow employees, customers and management in a cooperative, supportive and courteous manner; displays an attitude of professionalism; complies with company dress code
11. Keeps all areas of warehouse clean and orderly; follows all work and safety rules and procedures
12. Ensures that parts items are counted accurately, packaged and shipped to customer per shipping order and standard shipping procedures
13. Receives and stocks incoming parts and merchandise; checks for discrepancies; files claims if necessary
14. Uses hose equipment and tooling to prepare hose assemblies as requested
15. Required to work overtime if needed. Performs other duties as necessary and assigned
16. May be requested to get a commercial driver’s license based on the specific department operational needs
