JOB SUMMARY:
HVAC Field Service Technician will be required to PM, troubleshoot, set-up, and repair a wide range of portable HVAC equipment in rental fleet. Field service work will be performed in all types of industrial and commercial facilities, shop work would be done in our Oakwood facility. Equipment in our fleet includes air conditioners up to 80 tons, chillers up to 500 tons, direct & indirect fired heaters, electric heaters, dehumidifiers, and hydronic systems. Candidate should be able to understand refrigeration cycle and heat transfer. Can identify all refrigeration components and how they work. Refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and charging. Able to take superheat and subcooling readings. Can braze copper to copper and dissimilar metals. Properly replace compressors, motors, drive components, electrical components. Able to locate and repair refrigerant leaks. Proficient understanding of fan laws and air side troubleshooting. Ability to troubleshoot and repair all HVAC equipment issues. Help manufacturing and packaging all types of HVAC and rental products. Assemble units and organize parts. Control Panel wiring at a novice level. Ability to layout and mount all components to the subpanel. Ability to read and understand schematic wiring diagrams. Ability to follow point-to-point wiring diagrams. Demonstrate an understanding of Component-based troubleshooting. Replace common types of electrical connectors on wiring harnesses. Candidate will be assigned a company vehicle for business purposes only and must meet the company minimum requirements for operating a motor vehicle.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma required.
- Degree from a recognized HVAC school
- EPA Universal Refrigerant certification
- 5+ years of applicable experience
- Valid driver license

- Able to read complex electrical schematics.

- Brazing copper to copper and dissimilar metals
- Advanced refrigeration side troubleshooting
- Thorough understanding of refrigerant superheat and subcooling

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight (15-50 pounds), sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, repetitive hand motions, hear, and speak, some travel within the area and occasionally outside the area, and may experience prolonged and irregular work hours, and work with frequent interruptions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
