As a Technician at MacAllister Machinery, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment malfunctions and failures. You will rebuild, repair, and maintain equipment and components, ensuring they are operating at their highest performance. Position Summary 
The Mechanic will perform efficient and thorough mechanical repairs and or maintenance of all rental equipment in the shop. 
Responsibilities 
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures.
  • Assist in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining equipment and components.
  • Understand the operations, functions, specifications, capabilities, and controls of any piece of rental equipment.
  • Complete all documents associated with repairs in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Adhere to the manager’s and lead mechanic’s directions regarding all repairs and service calls.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and maintain quality housekeeping in the work area.
Qualifications 
Required: 
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year or more of work-related experience in a mechanic/technician related position.
 Preferred: 
  • Certificate acquired through a vocational or technical school.
  • 3 years or more of work-related experience with heavy equipment, preferably with a rental company or Caterpillar and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems, etc.
  • Must have required shop hand tools.
