Specialist - Used Parts
Position Summary
This position will support the Used Parts business in regard to inventory management, visibility, and accuracy. This role will be responsible for inventory management, used parts pricing, website maintenance and updates, and maintenance of monthly reports related to used parts aging, sales, and lead generation.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate information of large amounts of Used Parts inventory in ABS (Allied Boss System).
- Partner with leadership to establish detailed marketing and sales/marketing campaigns and budget to aid in achieving annual goals for the department.
- Establish appropriate inventory levels by determining reorder/purchasing points to maintain an efficient supply replenishment process.
- Establish used parts prices in accordance with supply and demand while maintaining profit margins.
- Conducts analysis of aged inventory. Monitors inventory age and makes recommendations for disposal and replenishment of equipment to maintain appropriate levels of inventory.
- Manage and develop all website advertising and promotional materials for Used Parts.
- Ensure all advertising and promotional materials are accurate and updated frequently.
- Generate inventory and sales reports from ABS and Machinery Trader.
- Assist in managing the rebuild process of parts and components, keeping track of costs and monitoring levels of work in process.
- Ensure all department invoices are processed accurately.
- Create packaging solutions to ensure cost effective, safe, and professional delivery.
- Assist in managing the rebuild process of parts and component.
Occasional/Other Responsibilities:
- Assist sales representative with providing quotes and photos of parts.
- Assist sales representative with administrative tasks involved in the sales process.
- Assist manager with aged inventory reporting and disposal.
- Create and identify new bin locations.
- Assist with loading and unloading of machines and parts in the yard.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No formal responsibility for supervising others
Position Requirements
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years or more of experience with parts and/or inventory management
- At least 2 years of mechanical experience.
- Ability to safely and effectively operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment, including printers and shipping equipment.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field
- 5 years or more of experience with parts and/or inventory management, preferably Caterpillar Equipment parts.
- At least 2 years of mechanical experience, with heavy equipment preferably Caterpillar equipment.

- Strong computer skills experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and the ability to learn CAT/MacAllister/Michigan Cat systems

- Ability to safely and effectively operate heavy equipment, often in confined areas.
- Ability to safely and effectively operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment, including printers and shipping equipment.
Other Requirements of Position
- Works under general supervision. Employee acts independently to handle standard problems but usually reports on such problems. More unusual problems are referred to a supervisor/manager.
- Major responsibilities typically require a modest amount of creativity and latitude. Employee typically operates under general instructions with some established procedures and policies. Errors, if they occur, take some effort to find, but can be fixed with some effort. Errors could potentially have significant consequences to the Company.
- Frequently communicates with coworkers, management, and customers.
- Maintains equipment and supplies to avoid waste, damage to areas and equipment, and to prevent accidents.
