Job Summary:

The IT Architect plays a critical role in shaping the enterprise application and systems landscape at Fabick Cat. This position is responsible for designing, integrating, and maintaining both third-party and in-house applications, while driving innovation through the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and data-driven automation. Working between business needs and technical execution, the IT Architect collaborates with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver scalable, intelligent, and secure solutions that align with the company's strategic goals.


Responsibilities:
  • Maintain enterprise applications, including third-party and internally developed systems, managing full lifecycles from planning to support.
  • Partner with vendors and solution providers to manage integrations, resolve technical challenges, and drive delivery of AI-enhanced business capabilities.
  • Collaborate with business and IT leadership to define architectural direction, aligning technology with Fabick Cat’s digital transformation and AI strategy.
  • Make strategic recommendations for application evolution based on emerging technologies and Fabick Cat's business objectives
  • Collaborate with end users to gather business requirements and develop effective solutions that transform needs into fully implemented projects
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring models and applications operate reliably, accurately, and securely in production environments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, problem solving, script writing, reporting, and data warehouse.
  • 5+ years of development experience with strong skills in SQL scripting (ad-hoc queries, stored procedures, performance tuning)
  • 2+ years of experience with API integrations and secure, scalable application design

 

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in Microsoft Stack, Power Apps, Power BI, PowerShell, and SSRS
  • Experience integrating AI platforms (OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, etc.) into application development and support workflows.
  • Extensive knowledge with Office 365 products including SharePoint online and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use data for effective presentation of information.
  • Excellent communication skills -- both written and verbal with the ability to engage an audience across a broad range of technical expertise and/or business acumen
  • Proficient knowledge of project management concepts, from planning and inception, through implementation and support
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
