Technical Training Instructor-FLW

We are seeking a Technical Training Instructor at our corporate headquarters in Flowood to develop, organize, and deliver Caterpillar and other allied vendor technical training courses in a classroom and on-the-job setting for company technicians, customers, and vendor partners. This is a salaried position that reports to the Technical Training Director. We offer excellent compensation, rock solid benefits, and a standard workweek schedule.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Develop, organize, schedule, and deliver classroom and lab-based diesel technology training programs. Assess and certify technicians on appropriate equipment.
• Develop and maintain the Company’s technical training course documentation (skill assessments, training aids, presentation materials, and lesson plans) that cover current products, procedures, parts reusability, tooling, and New Product Introductions (NPI).
• Develop and maintain a tiered technical training curriculum for service technicians.
• Develop the Company’s annual training schedule.
• Collaborate with Product Support Managers and the Technical Services Manager to ensure that service technicians have completed all the pre-requisite courses and certifications required for advancement and to identify areas where additional training is needed.
• Maintain current training records in company information systems.
• Assist the Technical Communicator, employee service technicians, and customers with technical product issues.
• Maintain technical knowledge base on appropriate courses and other areas of responsibility.
• Maintain positive working relationships and effective communication with all internal and external customers and Caterpillar personnel.
