Controller

Plan and direct Company's financial/management reporting and record keeping functions, enhancing as needed, to assist management in analyzing business performance. Prepare and present financial analyses of operations, including monthly and final year-end financial statements. Act as liaison with outside audit firm and oversee completion of annual audit. Work in concert with or at the direction of VP/CFO, to provide leadership and direction of Company to ensure realization of Company goals/objectives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Accounting or Business required
- Experience in an Accounting/Auditing/Process Improvement related field required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Willingness to learn and be trained
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills
- Able to communicate with team members and customers
- Good working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, word processing programs
- Highly self-directed
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain Company's general ledger system of accounts and keep records of all company transactions and assets
- Oversee monthly close; Furnish internal reports, revise and update as needed to be more useful and efficient; furnish external reports as necessary
- Act and listen with outside accounting firm; oversee completion of activities required to complete annual audit
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate appropriate and timely market, financial and performance data to management, evaluate effectiveness, take or recommend action to optimize results and realize continuous improvement
- Develop and implement current and long range Financial Division strategies, Policies, procedures, plans, processes, and budgets to guide division activities and ensure attainment of corporate goals and objectives
- Assist in developing strategic plans, goals and objectives to ensure the profitability, growth and continuance of the organization
- Assist with the annual inventory counts
- Coordinate preparation of annual budget, institute and maintain other planning and control procedures, analyze and report variances
- Maintain a valid motor vehicle operators' license
- Maintain a high degree of discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information and exercise initiative in all assigned areas, High integrity and accountability standards
- Recommend to manager ideas to improve the departments operating procedures or business practices and participate in and support continuous improvement of all related activities and processes
- Project a positive image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; display a professional attitude; comply with company dress code
- Create and maintain good communications (verbally & written) & relationships with other Company departments, branches, employees, outside vendors, & customers by addressing and resolving concerns quickly
- Follow all work, safety rules, and procedures
- Perform other duties as necessary and assigned
