Overview

The Recruiter/HR Generalist will assist the North Construction & SiTECH division with required Affirmative Action/Outreach efforts that include posting of vacancies to required websites/organizations and publications to ensure compliance and increase outreach efforts. Recruiter/HR Generalist will work with hiring managers to determine recruiting strategy. Will audit applicant tracking system in iCIMS/ADP to ensure hiring process meets Affirmative Action/OFCCP requirements and candidates are correctly dispositioned in our Applicant Tracking Systems. Will actively search for passive candidates. In addition to recruiting, will handle various HR Generalist responsibilities such as employee relations, resolving benefit questions, conducting exit interviews and working with the HR team to support 1,300 employees.   

Basic Duties

  • Assists construction & SiTECH managers with job postings, phone screens, offer letters, conducting face to face interviews, scheduling interviews for managers, and ensuring effective hiring process.
  • Recommend pre-hire assessment tools to improve hiring process.
  • Assist with Altorfer Recruiting Branding efforts. 
  • Recruit for various roles across our company along with 2 other team members. Openings vary from shop technician to upper management. 
  • Will assist with required Affirmative Action/Outreach efforts that including posting vacancies to required websites/organizations and publications to ensure compliance. Assists with OFCCP audits.
  • Work with our internal customers (our employees) to resolve employee issues and answer questions they may have.
  • Coordinate and attend recruiting events. Build and maintain candidate pipelines to improve recruiting efficiencies. 
  • Data mine passive candidates and continue building relationships with candidates.
  • Create employment advertisement ads (social media, online ads and newspaper ads).
  • Design marketing advertisement literature to improve recruitment efforts.
  • Maintain and audit employee documentation on file.
  • Coordinate pre-hire screenings to include pre-hire paperwork, background checks, employment/education verification, pre-employment physicals and pre-employment drug screens.
  • Maintain annual driving letters to employees.
  • Assist with updates in employee handbook and HR Intranet and ADP as needed.
  • Assist with new hire on boarding process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of full cycle recruiting and HR generalist experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resources, is highly desired.
  • PHR, SPHR or a certified recruiting certificate is highly desired.
  • Strong computer skills with expertise in Excel, Microsoft Office, ATS software and payroll software.
  • Must be extremely dedicated and hard working with superior organization and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Willingness to travel to Altorfer locations in the Midwest and recruiting events when needed.
  • Adaptive and responsive to change, motivated, positive, trustworthy and dependable, able to work with highly confidential information.
  • Superior interpersonal relationship skills; position can be challenging and demanding, qualified individual will be able to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, multi-task and consistently maintain professionalism.
  • Ability to problem solve; reliable and predictable attendance is required.
  • Attention to detail is essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).

 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This position will primarily work in an office environment, there will be times when you are required to go out into the service and warehouse area and will be required to wear close-toed shoes and safety glasses in designated areas. May, on a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means.  Safe driving record as listed above required due to travel to various Altorfer locations and career events. Must be able to walk, bend, lift up to 25 lbs. and wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields). The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
