Finning Canada is seeking a Yard Person with a mechanical aptitude to join our team supporting our Calgary location. As the Yard Person you are responsible for assisting with the day-to-day yard duties for the Branch. The successful candidate will be on a 7x7 continuous shift.

Job Description:

• Day to day yard activity for the shop including organization and maintenance of the yard
• Handle all incoming and outgoing paperwork (computer skills required) CAT inspect knowledge an asset
• Cleaning Forklift cabs and machines at the end of each day and shift
• Running the shop skid steer and broom to support pad cleanliness
• Operating machinery and troubleshooting (cold starts, boosting etc.)
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Qualifications:

• Completion of grade 12
• Class 7 Forklift experience
• Ability to regularly lift 40 lb objects
• Ability to operate equipment for loading and unloading (excavators, dozers, graders, loaders, skid steers, paving equipment, etc.)
• Team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (oral and written) skills
• Basic computer skills
• Heavy equipment operation experience is an asset
• Shipping and receiving experience is an asset
