JOB SUMMARY:
The Rental Sales Specialist is directly responsible for the Caterpillar and Allied fleet rental sales for the Cat Rental Store. The Specialist will support the Cat Rental Store’s growth strategy, revenue targets, and margin goals by targeting customer job sites within an assigned territory.  
COMPETENCIES:
  • Business Development: Increase rental revenue by fostering strong relationships with existing and potential customers through regular job site visits within a designated territory.
  • Rental Targets: Responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to meet or exceed rental sales and profitability objectives, including complete rental opportunity pipeline: lead generation, qualification, proposal, negotiation, and closing. Leverage marketing and sales tools to meet customer targets by identifying and selling to new rental customers and recovering dormant customers.
  • Technical Proficiency: Provide technical assistance to customers regarding product specifications and applications, delivering accurate solutions tailored to their specific needs. Learn how to use our IT systems for quotes, rental, sales, reservations, and territory management.
  • Sales Tools: Maintain accurate records of sales and customer pipeline activity in CRM software. Negotiate prices on equipment rentals and sales. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Rental Coordinators, Rental Sales Representatives, Rental Sales Management, and other branch departments to provide accurate quotes and secure equipment to satisfy customer needs. 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong customer service skills are essential, with only minimal sales experience needed
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and responsiveness.
  • A collaborative mindset, combined with a strong work ethic, is crucial for effective team collaboration within a department. 
  • General knowledge of construction equipment is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are highly valued.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. A moderate amount of travel within your region to support the sales team.
