JOB SUMMARY:

The Ohio CAT Serviceman will safely troubleshoot and repair general heavy equipment engines, drive-train components, electrical and hydraulic systems, and standard machine repair. Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, maintaining, overhauling, and rebuilding engines, as well as heavy equipment components, and performing welding tasks.

COMPETENCIES: 

  • General technical service skills, mechanical aptitude or experience with construction or power equipment required, welding capabilities (MIG and Arc), and strong DC electrical and machine electronic system knowledge are crucial.  Must demonstrate the ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete manufacturers’ updates.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, and able to work without direct supervision and work flexible/Shift hours. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.  Strong computer and software skills are a must.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate minimum
  • College and continued education in a technical field are a plus. 
  • Two to three years of experience in construction or power equipment/diesel engine service, including rebuild and repair, is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Lifting/Carrying 50 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling

Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines

Dexterity is Normal. Repetitive Motions involve Frequent movement that requires the hands, wrists, and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
