We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineering Intern to join our team at our Murrysville, PA or Harrisburg, PA corporate office.  The ideal candidate will work closely with our business analysts, business leaders and data engineers to create data products that meet the expectations of our stakeholder

Position Summary:

This internship is a unique opportunity for a career minded individual to gain firsthand experience in various aspects of information technology including the ERP project, business applications, IT support, and technical projects. The successful candidate will work closely with our IT team contributing to the overall success of our organization while building functional IT skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with business partners to gather requirements for the data products
  • Contribute to the delivery of a new modern data platform: delivering new data, optimizing and managing existing data sets
  • Develop and drive forward analytical capabilities
  • Learn to utilize Sales, Parts and Service data to consult business team members for building and optimizing data insights
  • Participate in data governance processes, curate technical metadata for business consumption
  • Enable the data community with change management opportunities

 

 

Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with Business or STEM focus (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, etc.). Graduate degrees with an engineering/analytical focus considered. 

  • Experience in problem solving and strong analytical skills
  • Preferred experience with SQL, Python, Scala and Spark languages to explore, interact and build solutions
  • Knowledge and experience with relational/non-relational databases
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization tools
  • Impactful data-driven story telling experience
  • Customer-First mindset
  • High energy self-starter
  • Quick learner through formal and self-guided education
  • Courage to challenge the status quo and take smart risks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
