Component Rebuilder

DESCRIPTION:

Performs maintenance, repairs and rebuilding of Caterpillar and allied equipment under limited supervision.

Compensation: up to $26.35 per hour. 

REQUIREMENTS:

1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Mechanical experience and/or education
3. Must be able to read and comprehend repair manuals
4. Must be familiar with and use all tools common to complete duties
5. May be called upon to assist Field Mechanics
6. Mechanic level will be determined by manager after all testing is complete

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Performs work assignments on all types of Caterpillar and allied equipment
2. Lifts parts and equipment components that weigh a minimum of 50 pounds
3. Must be capable of exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
4. Operates and moves equipment being repaired as needed
5. Order and return parts as required, completing paperwork as necessary
6. Writes accurate and legible Service Reports, reads and comprehends blueprints, technical data and service manuals
7. May be required to possess a Commercial Driver's License based on department operational needs
8. Uses proper test equipment to troubleshoot for needed repairs
9. Projects a positive company image with fellow employees, customers, and management; complies with company dress code
10. Keeps work area clean and orderly; follows all work safety rules and procedures
11. Ensures accuracy of work orders by charging parts and labor to proper work order segments
12. Owns and maintains sufficient hand tools to perform the job
13. May be required to work overtime if needed
14. Performs other duties as assigned and directed
