Technician - Marine/EPG - Rotator
About the Position:
This is a Rotator Opening.
Do you like to solve technical problems? Are you effective at troubleshooting? Are you comfortable working in and around marine vessels? If so, we have a challenging opportunity as a EPG/Marine Field Technician-Rotator in Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
Salary range: $56.65-60.65 per hour. (based on skills and experience)
Rotator Position: 3 weeks on/ 3 weeks off; 8 hours per day - 7 days a week.
- This is a key role in our company in which our technicians are responsible for diagnosing and performing all repairs and installations in the field for electric power generators and the associated diesel and gas engines.
- Travel throughout the state of Alaska is regularly required.
- Troubleshoot and repair standby, prime and paralleling power systems.
- Tear down, clean, inspect and make necessary repairs, replace or recondition components and worn parts on EPG, Industrial and Marine engines.
- With minimum supervision plan and organize jobs, control costs associated with repairs by following manufacture and company procedures.
- Order parts as required by using Caterpillar parts ordering systems (SIS), effectively communicate repairs/issues with customers, end-users and other team members, meet administrative requirements to complete paperwork, including service reports, input of hours timely and accurately.
- Required to promote and adhere to strict safety standards and maintain company assets in good condition.
Qualifications & Experience Needed:
- Diesel technology degree or equivalent hands on experience, 3+ years previous Caterpillar engine/generator experience, switchgear and EPG control panel wiring experience.
- In this position, you will need to supply your own tools, have a TWIC card or the ability to obtain one.
- You must have and maintain a valid state driver license as well as have a United States Passport.
