Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the position of Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for a variety of Caterpillar equipment repair functions within a service-oriented environment.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:

·         Assist Heavy Equipment Technicians with troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all heavy duty equipment and/or related equipment in a timely fashion.

·         Other related duties as required.

Knowledge:

·         An understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset.

·         Computer literacy is required with an understanding of Finning systems and software programs considered assets.

·         Mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of heavy equipment parts and repairs.

·         Maintain positive relationships with customers and co-workers.

·         Ensure all service documentation and billing is accurate and properly recorded.
