In this Senior Financial Analyst role, you will collaborate with business stakeholders within the organization to support various financial and business planning initiatives for assigned business functions. You will be influential in developing meaningful financial forecast models and conducting in-depth financial and business analysis.

Job Description:
- Prepares financial data and summary information for use in management reporting including preparation for executive level presentations across the organization.
- As a key finance business partner, reviews and presents monthly financial operating results, identifying key trends, variances, and areas of improved performance.
- Gather insights from financial and operational information and build customized financial models, management reports and presentations. Performs ad hoc analysis and forecasts for management team.
- Provides information and assistance to management regarding expenditures, purchases and other costs of doing business. Develops recommendations for management decision making.
- Performs financial analysis including conducting research and identifying, designing and implementing applications and tools to fulfill reporting and analysis needs. Runs various scenarios through models and interprets financial impact. Measures financial results against budget and forecasts.
- Responsible in the development of the annual budget and analyzes actual and budgeted figures on an ongoing basis. Creates and maintains detailed budgeted templates; works closely with other departments within the company to ensure that strategic initiatives are achieved
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work process. A significant focus is placed on continuous innovation, utilizing analytical tools to provide data driven insights. Drive automation.
- Utilizes Finning’s general ledger and reporting systems to pull financials for use in trending and analysis.
- Manage and/ or participate in small projects and provide subject matter expertise.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Accounting/Finance
- Professional designation (CPA, CGA, CMA, CA) is preferred
- Minimum 4-5 years of combined experience in Financial planning and analysis and Accounting would be ideal
- Strong experience with financial analysis, financial modeling and profitability analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
- Industrial sector and strategic planning experience are an asset
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously by prioritizing tasks, organizing details, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Possess healthy dose of curiosity. Knowledge of the link between analysis and business impact.
- Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups, pivot tables
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- SAP (BPC), budgeting and forecasting and knowledge in various ERP platforms, SQL is considered an asset
- Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects
