Job Description:
Major Job Functions
Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar & Non Caterpillar equipment in a field environment
Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**
Qualifications:
Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
Valid driver’s license with a successful recent Drivers Abstract (5 Year)
Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
Strong field troubleshooting skills on the Caterpillar product line is beneficial
Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
Previous experience with Caterpillar equipment/engines would be considered an asset
Power Generation experience would be considered an asset
Must comply with Customer's site access requirements
Notes:
Role is based in Yellowknife on a 5 x 2 Monday to Friday Shift, residence in Yellowknife an asset
Travel and Overtime will be required as per Customer requirements
A condition of employment may be the ability to obtain Customer Site Access (could include Drug & Alcohol, and Fitness testing)
A condition of employment may be the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
