What You Will Be Doing:
As the Transportation Coordinator for Austell, you will be the point person for all things related to the operation of the Austell overnight parts shuttle and daily flatbed shuttle. You will provide the various local departments with a single point of contact for all transportation related issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain the shipping and transfer staging areas in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
- Work with Austell Service Department shops and Yard Coordinators to ensure correct processes are applied when palletizing, banding, and securing of components to be transported safely and free of damage.
- Coordinate with Austell warehouse transfer line, Austell Service Department shops and Yard Coordinators on proper load scheduling, shipment labeling, and tracking.
- Unload inbound LTL trucks, ensuring all items are delivered to the correct Austell department, shop, or staging area.
- Unload and receive Work Tools from Waco and coordinate with the BCP team for correct handling and storage.
- Perform daily shipment assessment to ensure items are optimized for the correct mode of transportation.
- Perform online booking of all daily shipments which are going to move on the flatbed routes.
- Ensure flatbed manifest is completed and provided to the carrier daily.
- Load the afternoon parts shuttle truck and ensure everything is scanned correctly
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.
- Additional duties as assigned by manager.
Who We Are Looking For:
To be successful in this position you should have a mechanical aptitude, organized and the ability to operate different types of heavy equipment. You should have basic computer skills, a clean driving record and be safety conscious. The ability to multitask, problem solve and provide superior customer service are essential to this position as well.
Education/Experience:
- High school or equivalent experience.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills (email, internet, basic data entry).
- Problem solving and multitasking skills.
- Safety-conscious mentality.
