Senior Risk and Contracts Analyst
Responsibilities:
Support the Director of Risk Management in the administration of insurance programs and claims process in areas as property, casualty, vehicle, fidelity, liability, and workers' compensation
Coordinates insurance policy endorsements, issuance of insurance certificates with insurance company personnel and/or insurance brokers/consultants
Assists with review and navigate the settlement of claims and risk minimization programs
Prepares studies and analyses of accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and outside agencies
Compiles and submits accident reports and various other reports required by insurance carriers and various regulatory agencies
Coordinates inspections of organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
Coordination of claims and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations
Achieve a reasonable level of understanding of Ziegler’s major business areas in order to communicate effectively and provide relevant advice and support the risk mitigation of the organization.
Build rapport and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external customers to promote the ease of doing business and ultimately support the sales team in increased sales.
Owns the contract review process and develop efficiencies in the contract review process
Review existing and new customer, vendor, and dealer agreements/contracts to ensure that the terms and conditions are consistent with current expectations internally and externally
Ensure that Ziegler is in compliance with existing agreed upon terms and conditions such as insurance, indemnification, and legal provisions
Managed outside legal review of contracts
Recommend and draft contract provisions and amendments when appropriate and/or coach business leaders on provisions and amendment language when specific business knowledge may be needed
Work through tough negotiations by providing creative solutions and be willing to have conversations with legal representatives from customer’s side of the contract
Work collaboratively with other cross functional teams (Finance, Human Resources, Operations) to complete contracts and ensure effective communications among other internal groups
Drive, create and analyze the contract workflow process and identify risks and issues, providing recommendations for process improvement
Ensure all requirements associated with accuracy of pricing, business terms and internal approvals are secured and in alignment between Ziegler and the client’s business goals
Prepare and disseminate information regarding contract status, compliance, modifications, etc.
Assist with disputes and dispute resolution (including contract review and research).
Conduct, compile and interpret legal research, both federal and state, and at times, international, for different aspects of the business, including dealer agreements and regulations, contracting with public utilities, solar, construction.
Assist with updating employment guidelines as the legal and/or political environment changes.
Manage outside legal review of contracts
Work collaboratively with other cross functional teams (Finance, Human Resources, Operations) to complete contracts and ensure effective communications among other internal groups
- Involvement with cyber security risk projects such as: data retention policy to ensure accordance with regulations and company needs
- Work with the marketing team to strengthen and improve compliance and education in various areas to include: social media guidelines, create and conduct training on social media, claims, sweepstakes and other marketing initiatives
- Develop complex marketing guidance and trained the Marketing team on key legal issues in marketing on websites, privacy, promotions, claims, endorsements, social media, image rights, etc.
- Strengthen review and governance of our external marketing partners
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Business Law, or a related field of study required
7 years of work experience in insurance, claims, contract analysis or paralegal
Knowledge in privacy law as it relates to marketing, privacy policies, terms of use, personal data and SAAS agreements.
Knowledge in all aspects of marketing law and the Federal Trade Commission, including websites, email marketing and opt-ins, intellectual property, e-commerce, fliers, promotions, social media, etc., and using that knowledge to work with, and provide guidance to, the marketing team on various marketing initiatives
Advanced knowledge of local, state, and national insurance and contract laws
Strong negotiation skills
Strong attention to detail, organization, and verbal/written communication required
Ability to act and respond quickly to contract review requests and claims situations.
Self-motivated and goal oriented
Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
High proficiency in Microsoft Office
