The Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician (CVA Tech) performs field service inspections/general preventative maintenance based on customer service agreements.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

  • Perform complete oil, filter and lubrication services including checking and filling fluid levels to O.E.M. specifications and refueling as requested and supplied by customer.
  • Follow all documented CVA processes and guidelines. 
  • Maintain lube records for all work performed. 
  • Ability to read Scheduled Oil Samples (SOS) reports and analysis. 
  • Provide accurate service reports, oil samples, and inspection paperwork to customer as work is performed. 
  • Inspect equipment for external signs of potential component failure. 
  • Inspect safety devices and report inoperable conditions. 
  • Maintain service readiness of field lube truck including customer service fluid supplies.
  • Knowledgeable in the proper startup and shutdown procedures of CAT equipment.
  • Flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs. 
  • Complete all job responsibilities while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent. 
  • One year experience servicing heavy equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record and must possess a valid CDL license.
  • Basic knowledge of heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge and safe operation of heavy equipment. 
  • Able to perform machine inspections and operate a service vehicle. 
  • Knowledgeable in the proper startup and shutdown procedures of CAT equipment, is a plus
  • Flexible to work after hours, when needed, to meet customer needs. 
  • High degree of interpersonal skills with solid written and oral communication skills is required.
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.  

 Working Conditions:

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside (non-climate controlled) and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
  • Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
  • Physical use of a broad variety of tools and machines in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Must be able to lift varied weight.
  • Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
  • Use of computer and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
