Job Summary:


As a Data Technical Architect on our IT Architecture team, you will have a chance to design and architect intelligent, automated data systems using advanced data engineering knowledge to redefine best practices with a cloud-based approach to scalability and automation. In partnership with other architects, analysts, and data engineers, you will work backwards from our business needs to design reliable data solutions to meet business needs. By scaling up our data ecosystem around cloud-based CRM, ERP, and data platforms, we will improve speed, lower the total cost of ownership and provide a unified view of entities.


You will be building new skills and strengthening your expertise through hands-on experience by architecting and prototyping robust data pipelines for modern enterprise platforms such as Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365. This role is adept at leveraging their knowledge and experience to influence and guide build teams to successful outcomes. The Technical Architect leads the technical design of solutions and must be adept at engaging with business and technical executives to collaborate on plans.

Essential Functions:



  • Model, promote, reinforce, and reward the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.

  • Develop, evaluate, and influence effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)

  • Works directly with business stakeholders to lead projects, participates in requirement gathering sessions and owns development of the technical design. and architecture of current and new data repositories.

  • Develop prototypes or proof of concepts as required.

  • Develop design artifacts and maintain appropriate levels of architecture documentation; ensure quality and automation across all aspects of implementation; provide technical leadership to one or more team members consisting of cross functional, global, and virtual groups.

  • Ensure adherence to enterprise standards in project execution methodology, technical delivery, and standards compliance; collaborate on project estimation and planning to ensure successful delivery.

  • Mentor junior to mid-level engineers ensuring technical excellence and growth.

  • Develop and enforce enterprise-wide standards and best practices for data management to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability across internal build teams.

  • Develops design artifacts for business requirement and provides support throughout build phases while ensuring adherence to design and standards by leading technical reviews. 

  • Ensure system performance, refine whenever required, and report any breach or loopholes to the stakeholders.

  • Work collaboratively and exercise strong communications skills, especially in teaching complex concepts, and creative, prescriptive thinking to junior engineers.

  • Propose creative and innovative technical solutions to business problems.

  • Recommends improvements to engineering processes, workflows, methodologies, and toolsets.

  • Achieve and maintain architect level certifications in alignment with company’s partnership goals.

  • Develop a deep knowledge of the business and build positive relationship development, both horizontally and vertically.

  • Act as a though leader for building scalable and performant technical architecture for enterprise data platforms.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key client leadership.

  • Provide screening of prospective candidates (both internal and external).

  • The main point of contact in the escalation process from technical issues.

  • Work safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Expert level SQL skills, and experience with Python or other scripting languages.

  • Data architecture experience with designing and implementing enterprise scale cloud data platforms, preferably on Microsoft Azure platform.

  • Demonstrable experience with design and implementation of data analytics solutions on modern platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, and visualization such as Power BI and Tableau.

  • Extensive experience constructing robust data transformations, feature engineering and loading routines; adept in building and conducting unit and integration test cases for data transformation and loading pipelines.

  • Hands on experience of Cloud environments (Containers, Data Management, CI/CD Management).

  • Familiarity of modern auth frameworks and role-based access control.

  • IT background with experience across the systems development life cycle and all project phases - plan, initiate, elaborate, design, build, test, implement.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.

  • Be comfortable working in a matrix environment and foster motivation within the project team to meet tight deadlines; ability to inspire individuals and teams to achieve success.

  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies.

  • Experience in building strong customer relationships, working with and advising senior executives.

  • Excellent business-facing and presentation skills.

  • Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced, high-energy, challenging environment where there are multiple competing priorities daily.

Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, or related field preferred but not required.

  • 8+ years of experience in a data warehousing, data engineering, data architect, enterprise architect, or technical lead role.

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in designing, managing, and maintaining large, multi-terabyte data warehouse environments, including data pipelines and ETL processes.

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift), cloud-native data integration tools, data lakes, and related concepts such as zero-copy data sharing.

  • Experience working with a variety of database technologies such as MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, HDFS, graph database, DB2 etc. preferred.

  • Experience with designing data pipelines for structured, unstructured, and semi structured data required.

  • Active certifications (Strong preference for Azure, Microsoft SQL Server, and Power Platform) preferred or attainable within the first year of employment.


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • None.


Travel:



  • Up to 20% with occasionally overnight stay.


Physical Requirements:



  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally,occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Work Environment:



  • This job is generally performed in a professional office environment.

  • Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
