Position Summary
The Rental Technician will perform efficient and thorough mechanical repairs and or maintenance of all rental equipment in the shop.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures.
- Assist in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining equipment and components.
- Understand the operations, functions, specifications, capabilities, and controls of any piece of rental equipment.
- Complete all documents associated with repairs in an accurate and timely manner.
- Adhere to the manager’s and lead mechanic’s directions regarding all repairs and service calls.
- Adhere to all safety rules and maintain quality housekeeping in the work area.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year or more of work-related experience in a mechanic/technician related position
Preferred:
- Certificate acquired through a vocational or technical school.
- 3 years or more of work-related experience with heavy equipment, preferably with a rental company or Caterpillar and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems, etc.
- Must have required shop hand tools.
