As a Drill Fitter you will work with a highly supportive group and report directly to the Drills Supervisor.
About: WesTrac’s newly established HMS & Drill Services business unit is driving the future of aftermarket solutions for Heavy Mining Shovels and Drill Rigs. With state-of-the-art workshops and facilities under development, we’re building a passionate, high-performing team ready to shape what’s next in mining services.
The Drill Service business unit offers product specific career pathways, from building basic product knowledge, to Product Support Advisors through to Field Service Specialists for Blast Hole Drills and Hydraulic Mining Shovels.
Location: FIFO
Roster Option: 8 days on, 6 off OR 14 days on, 7 days off OR 14 days on, 14 days off 12.5hrs (Inclusive 30min meal break) - DAYS ONLY
What you'll do:
Pro-actively assist with Drill preventative maintenance schedules, maintenance teams for planning work scopes and trouble shooting.
Maximise operation and product reliability on the fleet of Caterpillar blast hole drills
Technical reporting and product instruction/training strategies to improve drill product knowledge to the wider work group.
Accountable to increase the all-round performance, reliability, and availability of the designated drills.
Skills & Experience:
Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel or Mobile Plant Mechanic Trade certificate
Previous experience within field service or mine site environment
Demonstrate technical aptitude and experience on surface blast hole drill rigs
Flexibility and willingness to travel various mine sites
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships.
Strong communication skills and a dedication to safe work practices
OEM or dealership experience is advantageous.
