Preventative Maintenance Technician
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must hold a valid CDL or valid driver's license. Typically requires at least two years of relevant experience. Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential. Must successfully pass a background check, physical exam, and drug screening.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Independently perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of Stowers Machinery equipment at customer job sites—taking ownership of every task and delivering high-quality service without supervision.
Operate with precision and accountability, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and error-free, reflecting our trust in your expertise.
Demonstrate pride in craftsmanship by accepting full responsibility for your work and understanding its direct impact on our customers and our company’s reputation.
Confidently inspect equipment, assess parts reusability, and build accurate materials lists—showcasing your technical judgment and autonomy.
Show initiative and personal investment in your work, with continuous growth in skill and knowledge.
Use diagnostic tools and testing procedures to make sound repair decisions and efficiently plan and execute jobs, all while leading by example.
Provide leadership when needed by guiding and mentoring other technicians on larger jobs, contributing to a culture of shared success.
Drive safely and responsibly, adhering to all DOT laws while representing Stowers in the field.
Maintain and safeguard personal and company tools, including keeping detailed records and investing in the right equipment to support your performance.
Accurately complete service reports and timecards daily, showing accountability and professionalism without requiring supervision.
Manage parts ordering, returns, and core credits independently, ensuring the right parts are used and costs are controlled.
Communicate clearly and effectively with teammates and customers, reinforcing your role as a trusted expert.
Safety
- Know and follow all Company and customer safety rules, including maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, fully participating in Company accident prevention and safety improvement activities.
- Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including protective glasses, protective gloves, and protective clothing and footwear as required by the job.

- Respond to all customer requests in a professional, courteous, timely, and responsive manner.
- Maintain a clean, professional personal appearance at all times, meeting all Company standards for professionalism.
- Keep the Manager continually apprised to assist in answering customer questions and problems when necessary.

- Able to work a standard five-day schedule, including daily overtime and occasional weekend hours as needed.
- Meet all eligibility requirements to drive Company vehicles, including a current, valid driver’s license issued by the resident State.
Physical Requirements
- Pass a pre-employment background check, physical exam, including drug screen, and meet all physical requirements for the position.
- Able to lift 20-70 pounds occasionally. And push or pull up to 100 pounds.
