Are you passionate about preserving automotive history?

We are seeking a knowledgeable and mechanically inclined Vintage Car Curator. This is a rare opportunity for an expert in vintage automobiles—particularly those from the 1970s and earlier—to take on a pivotal role in maintaining, researching, and curating an extraordinary collection of historic vehicles and memorabilia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mechanical Care & Maintenance
    • Perform light mechanical work such as oil changes, minor repairs, and part replacements while preserving originality.
    • Source, identify, and verify correct parts through hands-on experience and industry knowledge.
  • Automotive Research & Documentation
    • Trace vehicle histories, ownership records, and documentation to validate provenance and continuous identity.
    • Maintain high attention to detail in compiling and organizing photographs, periodicals, and records.
  • Collection Specialist
    • Organize and manage the collection of books, magazines, artwork, petroliana, signage, and vehicle records.
    • Catalog and archive items using best practices for historical preservation.
  • Event & Travel Support
    • Occasionally travel to inspect vehicles, attend events, visit restoration workshops, or accompany cars to shows and concours events.

What We’re Looking For
  • Deep knowledge of automotive history, including key makes, models, races, events, and individuals of note.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to conduct hands-on tasks and speak fluently about how classic cars are built, operated, and restored.
  • Prior experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Vintage car auction houses
    • Restoration shops
    • Auto museums
    • Vintage racing organizations
  • Strong research and investigative skills with the ability to authenticate and document a vehicle’s legacy.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a methodical approach to recordkeeping and archiving.
  • A self-motivated, independent work ethic with a high degree of trust and confidentiality.
  • Experience managing archives, libraries, or artifact collections is a strong plus.

Why Join Us?
You’ll become the steward of an extraordinary private collection, working in a dynamic, hands-on environment where your passion for vintage automobiles can thrive. Reporting directly to the owner and collaborating closely with our lead mechanic, you’ll play a crucial role in preserving automotive history for generations to come.
