Sales & Application Specialist - Technology
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS |
· Working with Machine Sales Representatives to support customers in the Construction, Mining and the Oil & Gas industries. · Focus on current customer operations as it relates to all technology and prospect new sales and rental opportunities in the territory. · Be the consultant for technology on all Wyoming Machinery Company sales and rental with commercial responsibility. · Be the main point of contact for all technology quoting and coordination between sales, support and service teams. · Monitor technology implementation for sites, quotes and installation and report back to management team and sales representatives on progress, as needed. · Be familiar with competitive technology offerings in order to defend existing business and grow future sales and rental opportunities with mixed fleet customers. · As technology offerings change the SAS will be required to be the champion for training and go-to-market strategies. Attend Cat technology trainings as offered. |

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY |
· Highschool diploma or equivalent. · Minimum of two years of customer facing experience. · Familiar with machine technology and site plan application. · Knowledge of machine operation, application, technology, selection, & acquisition. · Knowledge of fundamentals of business finances, accounting. · Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems. · Ability to work effectively with others, both inside and outside the company. · Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. · Business math proficiency. · Ability to utilize the materials available to sell products. · Basic public speaking skills. · Basic computer (PC) skills. · Utilize basic selling skills (communication style, questioning, listening, feature/benefit relationship, call planning, territory management, objections, use of visuals, negotiating and closing) to effectively win the available business. · Able to organize one's time, resources and territory. · Self-motivated. PREFERRED · Experience with heavy equipment industry. |
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS |
· Physical activities include normal office work, driving, climbing on and operating machines, capability to see, hear and feel machine condition indications. · Materials and equipment directly used: company forms for quotes, call reporting, expense accounting and the like. Product literature and reference material. PC. Phone. Company files. · Able to work long days. · Travel to company facilities, customer offices and job sights required with occasional overnight stay. · Operate a company vehicle requiring a valid driver’s license (driving record must meet company insurance standards and is reviewed annually). |
