Lead Manufacturing Maintenance Technician
Job Summary: The Lead Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing advanced maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment and systems. This role requires expert-level troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems. The technician will lead complex maintenance projects, mentor other technicians, and ensure equipment reliability to support production goals.

Essential Functions:
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, welders, cut table, blast and paint systems
- Performs diagnostics and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Leads installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades
- Conducts preventive and predictive maintenance activities
- Collaborates with engineering and production teams to resolve equipment issues
- Maintains accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Trains and mentors lower-level technicians
- Ensures compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and maintenance practices
- Responds to emergency breakdowns and support off-shift maintenance needs as required
- Works safely at all time and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of equipment and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance
- Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and software
- Ability in selecting the appropriate tools and equipment needed to perform a job safely and effectively
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation
- Knowledge and ability to adhere to safe work procedures and practices
- Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field preferred
- Four or more years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in manufacturing maintenance required
- One or more years supervisory/lead experience preferred
- Experience with PLCs and automation systems is a plus

Travel:
- Up to 10% of travel may be expected to include travel to branch sites
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
- Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending/crouching, and climbing
- Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment
- Be able to maneuver safely and work underneath vehicles/equipment, in cramped/small spaces, and/or high elevated places
- Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
- This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
Work Environment:
- Regularly works in a manufacturing facility; may be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
- Noise level may be loud at times
- Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
- Exposure to small quantities of fuels, oils, electricity, and hot surfaces
- Requires wearing proper protective and safety equipment (PPE)
- May require working evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on production needs
- Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
