Maintenance Technician I
DESCRIPTION:
Performs maintenance and repairs to company buildings and equipment related to carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems.
Compensation: up to $27.25 per hour
REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to learn and be trained; highly self-directed
- Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills
- Able to communicate with team members and customers
- Good working knowledge of computer, spreadsheets and word processing programs
- Ability to operate a PC (windows, Excel, Word)
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs necessary maintenance and repairs with little supervision to buildings and equipment related to carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems; requisition repair parts
- Operates material handling equipment as required
- Reads and comprehends technical data/service manuals related to equipment and systems, and write legibly
- Lifts equipment components/parts that weigh no more than 50 pounds to effectively complete repairs
- Receive and complete maintenance request forms from all departments daily. Complete maintenance requests as soon as possible. Turn in completed request forms
- Troubleshoot, repair, and PM Company owned equipment, systems, overhead cranes and Demag units
- Provide plumbing, electrical, and carpentry services, including changing light bulbs
- Assist the Company in remodeling projects designated by Manager, Administrative Services
- Maintain sprinkler systems and weekly and monthly sprinkler
- Contact HVAC, electrical and roofing vendors when it is not feasible or practical to make repairs to buildings and grounds with Company personnel
- Assist in training of maintenance laborers and maintenance technicians
- Maintain trade certifications in areas of expertise
- Maintain a high degree of discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information and exercise initiative in all assigned areas, High integrity and accountability standards
- All other duties as necessary and assigned
