Summary

The Procurement BI Analyst plays a critical role in transforming procurement data into actionable insights that improve sourcing decisions, supplier performance, cost efficiency, and category management across Weisiger Group’s enterprise. This role supports the execution of strategic sourcing, supplier segmentation, contract compliance, and category strategy using advanced data tools such as Power BI, SQL, and ERP systems. The analyst also helps enable a formalized category management framework and supports continuous improvement through performance monitoring and reporting.

The ideal candidate combines analytics proficiency with a strategic mindset, and excels at cross-functional collaboration to drive procurement excellence.

Essential Functions

Analytics & Reporting

  • Design, build, and maintain procurement dashboards and performance scorecards (e.g., supplier performance, category spend, contract compliance, savings tracking).
  • Provide timely reporting on key metrics, including spend under contract, supplier segmentation, vendor risk, and sourcing performance.
  • Translate complex procurement and sourcing questions into data-driven solutions for category managers and leadership.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the supplier community, including risks, trends, and areas for improvement.

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

  • Support execution of a formal Category Management Framework by delivering data that supports taxonomy definition, sourcing strategies, and performance tracking across categories (e.g., IT, MRO, Facilities).
  • Contribute to the development and oversight of the strategic sourcing calendar, supporting event planning, documentation (RFI/RFP), and execution analysis.
  • Assist with pre-sourcing planning by gathering requirements, spend data, and historical insights to inform strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Track cost-out opportunities by analyzing spend patterns, supplier overlap, and pricing inefficiencies; support supplier consolidation and process improvements.

Supplier Performance & Risk Monitoring

  • Develop and maintain tools for supplier segmentation (strategic, preferred, transactional) to drive differentiated contract and relationship strategies.
  • Perform root cause and trend analyses on supplier quality, delivery, and compliance issues; recommend remediation actions.
  • Forecast savings and evaluate sourcing strategies using modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Monitor supplier diversity, sustainability, and risk indicators using internal and third-party data.

Data Management & Governance

  • Improve procurement data integrity in SAP by partnering with ERP and master data teams on governance, taxonomy (e.g., UNSPSC), and standardization.
  • Act as data gatekeeper for vendor submissions and support contract lifecycle documentation archiving.
  • Maintain centralized sourcing documentation, including RFPs, RFIs, event results, and performance data for future reference and compliance audits.

Process Execution & Continuous Improvement

  • Support execution of purchase orders and standard purchasing activities; maintain data accuracy in SAP.
  • Conduct post-sourcing audits to ensure policy adherence and sourcing success measurement.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback and results to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, analytics accuracy, and stakeholder communication.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities, however, individual may be requested to provide ad hoc or ongoing leadership, supervision, and training to new hires and other internal stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, procurement analytics, or supply chain data analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI (DAX, data modeling, dashboard design).
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Proven ability to analyze spend data, supplier performance, and sourcing results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting category management or strategic sourcing functions.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement modules.
  • Familiarity with CLM platforms (e.g., Ironclad, Coupa, Ariba).
  • Understanding of procurement metrics and practices, including cost savings, supplier segmentation, compliance, and sourcing cycle time.
  • Scripting or programming experience (e.g., Python, R) for advanced analytics.
