Position Overview:

Finning Canada is seeking Journeypersons Field Heavy Equipment Technicians to join our amazing General Line team in Edmonton on a 5 x 2 Shift Schedule. Field Heavy Duty Mechanics at Finning are responsible for supporting our customers by: troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance and diagnostics of a variety of Caterpillar engines and auxiliary equipment in a field environment.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

• Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
• Interface with customers, products and sales support
• Working with the supervisor on various tasks
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
• Various related duties as required

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement**

Specific Skills & Experience

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
• Dedication to safety
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset

• Completion or be in the process of completing Finning S-level courses would also be considered an asset

• Team player

Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.

Note:

• Drivers’ Abstract will be required
• Travel will be required, overnight stays may be required
• Starting wage of $53.54 (probationary rate) - $55.51
• Condition of employment may be the ability to wear a respirator and obtain access to Customer Sites
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
