Finance Intern- High School
HOLT Group is offering an exciting opportunity for High School Interns! This position is an entry-level position that will work with our Finance department. It will be under the guidance of an experienced Supervisor. The intern’s primary purpose is to learn and develop within the Accounts Payable team. This part-time internship will be scheduled within the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm throughout the school year. The Intern will receive on-the-job training in order to learn and develop in the Accounts Payable department.
Essential Functions:
- Shadows the Accounts Payable Department function and receive hands-on training
- Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition
- Receives reviews and coaching from the designated mentor
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Basic math calculations and the ability to read, write, and understand work instructions
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word and Excel); ability to work with information in spreadsheets and documents
- Strong organization skills, detail-oriented, and ability to work on multiple projects
- Basic math and algebra skills
Education and Experience:
- Currently pursuing a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a current High School student enrolled in a Business or Finance program
- Must be currently enrolled in a practicum or work-study high school program
Travel:
- No travel is expected for this position
Physical Requirements:
- This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
- This role frequently communicates with others, and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
Work Environment:
- This job is generally performed in a professional office environment in environmentally controlled conditions
- Essential functions are performed in close physical proximity to other people
- Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
