We are currently looking for a dedicated Field Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for the field maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar engines and auxiliary equipment based out of our Fort McMurray location.If you are a safety conscious team player, self-motivated, autonomous, detail-oriented and possess your Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification with a valid driver’s license, then you are exactly who we are looking for!
Job Description:
Major Job Functions
- Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
- Interface with customers, products and sales support
- Working with the supervisor on various tasks
- Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
- Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
- Various related duties as required
Specific Skills & Experience
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
- Minimum 5 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
- Dedication to safety
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
- Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
- Valid class 5 driver's license with a successful driver abstract, must be willing to provide or authorize Finning to acquire a current driver's abstract
- Role will require access to various customer sites around the Wood Buffalo region, will be required to successfully complete necessary training and other activities based on customer requirements
- Completion or be in the process of completing Finning S-level courses would also be considered an asset

Note:
- This position is located out of our Fort McMurray location on a 7x7 continuous shift rotation
- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
- Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
- Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
