JOB SUMMARY



The HR Assistant is an integral part of the HR team, helping to support the goals and objectives of the department.  The position will focus its attention on supporting the company’s new hire process working directly with Business Partners and Recruiters, as well as other essential functions of Human Resources.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



·     Assist with the new hire process to include posting new positions, processing applications, scheduling interviews and onboarding new hires.


·     Work with Business Partners at various locations to assist with recruiting and new hire process.


·     Communicate regularly with HR Team Members on activities, HR/customer issues, etc.


·     Coordinate candidate travel and interview itineraries. 


·     Onboarding activities will include working with the candidate to ensure all paperwork and background testing is complete and coordinating with the hiring manager to ensure that the new employee is ready to begin work on day 1 of employment.


·     Meet with new employees on day 1 to review critical information, complete I-9 verification, and process in outstanding new hire needs. 


·     Assist with preparing and participating in recruiting events as needed.


·     Assist team with new hire orientation to including scheduling, communicating, and participating in the event.


·     Help facilitate the company’s employee recognition programs.


·     Follow company policy and legal compliance during the new hire process.


·      Provide excellent employee customer service to internal and external customers. 


·     Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY



·     Valid driver’s license in good standing.


·     Previous experience working in a professional environment.


·     Solid attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, outstanding social skills, good oral and written communication skills, great teammate and service oriented.


·     Able to meet deadlines and work independently to achieve department goals.


·     Able to speak, read and write the English language in an understandable manner.


·     Able to travel to company facilities, mine sites and other work sites.


·     Able to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.


·     Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.


·     Able to research and analyze different type of data information.


·     Basic understanding of employment law, FMLA, ADA, OSHA and MSHA regulations.


·     Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.


·     Excellent written and verbal communications skills.


·     Good public speaking skills.


·     Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft office products, HRIS/ATS Systems.


PREFERRED


·     A.S. degree in Human Resources or two years of related para‑professional work experience in Human Resources.


·     Knowledge of HRIS/ATS systems.


·     HR experience to include recruiting and employee onboarding. 



PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS



·     Walking, sitting and standing.


·     Use of various office equipment such as computer terminal, personal computer, telephone, calculator, copier, etc.


·     Office environment requires professional dress and appearance.


·     Use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.


·     Occasional lifting of under 50 lbs.
