Packaging Shop Technician - Weekend Day Shift
Essential Functions:
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
- Maintains all company equipment, tools, and work areas in a good, clean, and working order
- Works as a member of a team to provide mechanical/electrical services that satisfy customer needs and achieve departmental goals
- Assists in the assembly of custom genset and engine packages to meet customer requirements/specifications
- Demonstrates knowledge of estimating, planning, and controlling Work Order/Project Costs
- Completes parts orders and identifies parts for return
- Plans engine and component assembly
- Removes and installs parts, disassembles and assembles components
- Basic ability to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and failures
- Communicates job progress to supervisor
- Completes assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate time and re-work standards
- Completes all assigned Technician Training Path courses, safety training, and soft skills training opportunities
- Works overtime as required by workload and customer’s needs
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Intermediate knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge and proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
- Operation and control skills of equipment or systems
- Equipment selection skills by determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Knowledge of safe work procedures and practices
- Ability to follow logical troubleshooting procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair including an overhead crane
- Ability to operate a conventional forklift
- Ability to quickly and repeatedly operate the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
- Ability to be self-starting and self-motivated
- Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and understand information
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, engines, gensets, and electrical
- Shows planning and organizing skills required to prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently; plan for additional resources
Additional Requirements:
- Owns all required mechanical/electrical hand, power, and pneumatic tools and may have some specialized tools
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Four or more years of experience preferred
Travel:
- Up to 10% travel may be required & may require overnight stays
