Electric Power Generation Shop Lead Technician
REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver's license. Five or more years’ experience is normally required. Be motivated, a self-starter with strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills required. Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug screening test.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs and assists technicians in the repair of Power System machines. Assists managers in daily duties, including the direction of technicians, to ensure quality repairs and accurate completion of all paperwork.
Including timecards, parts orders, parts returns, and service reports. This also includes scanning shop work orders for repairs covered by warranty. Must be capable of inspecting machines for needed repairs and inspecting machines at completion to ensure quality repairs and customer satisfaction. Must be capable of managing the shop in the manager's absence.
Follows and communicates directions accurately and has tasks performed in an efficient time while working with no supervision.
Works with managers to assign technicians to jobs on a daily basis.
Accepts responsibility for own work and understands the impact of this work on the company.
Directs technicians in the inspection of machines, determining parts reusability, and developing parts and material lists as needed.
Inspects all machines after repairs to ensure that repairs are completed and that there are no other problems with the machine.
Assists technicians in failure analysis of machines to ensure accurate and quality repairs.
Showing interest in own work is a must.
Willing to work overtime (sometimes at short notice) is required to always keep machine readiness high.
Has knowledge of test equipment and procedures and can diagnose problems, make repair decisions, and set up jobs with no supervision.
Prepared to purchase hand tools as required to perform the job. Properly safeguards all tools.
Keeps an updated itemized record of employee-owned tools on file, which includes pictures and the cost of tools, and the toolbox.
Holds a valid CDL Class A or B as needed
