Summary

The Weisiger Group is looking for an initiative-taking and experienced Program Manager to join our ePMO team. Our organization values engagement and partnership, and we are looking for someone who shares our passion for building strong relationships with stakeholders and driving successful programs and project outcomes.

This role will serve as the Program Manager dedicated to supporting Carolina Cat’s successful completion and/or metric attainment for all Caterpillar dealer initiatives that require enterprise support. This includes partnering with Caterpillar and Carolina Cat stakeholders on annual dealer excellence programs, technology and digital initiatives, and strategic initiatives shared by Caterpillar to their dealer network.

As a member of the ePMO, the Program Manager is responsible for, though not limited to, plans and processes to achieve project/program objectives within scope, time, quality, and budget constraints. The Program Manager will work across multiple business areas to manage both IT/digital and business-related deliverables and goals under minimal supervision. The Program Manager will form a strong relationship with the Caterpillar representatives and Carolina Cat business stakeholders. They will partner to clarify requirements and expectations, resolve issues, provide program and project status updates and escalates issues and concerns appropriately. To be successful in this role you must be willing and able to partner with business stakeholders, “roll up your sleeves,” and provide value outside of basic program and project management tasks. Prior management consulting and program/project management or change management experience required.

Essential Functions

  • Caterpillar Excellence program management and tracking for Carolina Cat.
  • Program management of Caterpillar Annual Deployment Plan, including performing project intake activities for all projects within the program, partnering with the Carolina Cat Applications team to assess the level of effort and requirements, and communicating program status to leaders at Caterpillar and Carolina Cat.
  • Shepherd and manage other program requests from Caterpillar to Carolina Cat that require cross functional support (e.g., legal agreements, technology updates, data sharing requests, etc.).
  • Organize project teams by assigning individual responsibilities, developing project schedules, and determining resource requirements necessary to ensure project/program success and/or compliance.
  • Perform business analysis and develop requirements documentation for scope alignment, solution development, resource determination, time and costs for any technology or digital requests from Caterpillar to Carolina Cat.
  • Assist in annual planning for Carolina Cat.
  • Assist in preparing Carolina Cat executives for Caterpillar conferences and meetings.
  • Include necessary change management activities to ensure adoption from the Caterpillar program requests (e.g., communication to appropriate audiences, training, etc.).
  • Identify long term, sustainable, scalable solutions that meet Caterpillar metric goals, but also ensure Carolina Cat’s long-term adoption and success.
  • Identify and coordinate workstreams, as well as orchestrate collaboration across the enterprise.
  • Monitors the status of programs, metrics, and projects, including raising risks and dependencies to executives prior to them becoming issues.
  • Manage issues, risks, decisions, and change requests using appropriate and agreed upon processes and tools established within the ePMO.
  • Provide regular program and project status reports to Carolina Cat and Caterpillar stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Program/Project Management, General Business, Management, or similar studies.
  • 10+ years of management consulting, project management, change management, business analyst experience.
  • 5+ years in a client or senior stakeholder-facing role, with strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with technology platform and data integration concepts (e.g., high level knowledge of how an API works).
  • Technology requirements documentation experience.
  • Experience running multiple projects and programs simultaneously to successful completion.
  • Proven ability to drive projects from concept through completion with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and find order in chaos.
  • Experience and comfort with working with executive stakeholders as well as front-line users.

Preferred

  • MBA or masters in an equivalent field
  • Exposure and experience with Lean, PMI, 6s or Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity or experience working with continuous improvement specialists to deliver projects.
  • Experience with construction or heavy equipment industry including service, parts, sales, and rental.

Certifications / Licenses / Registrations

Preferred for candidate to have one or more of the following certifications:

  • PMI/PMP
  • Lean / Six Sigma
  • 6s
  • Prosci (Change Management)

Computer Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel (deep knowledge of formulas and data analysis).
  • Intermediate skills with team productivity tools (SharePoint, Smartsheet, etc.).
  • Intermediate skills in process mapping tools (Visio or equivalent)
