Job Description

Peterson Cat has the immediate need for an experienced Service Coordinator at our San Leandro, CA location.

SUMMARY:

This position performs quoting functions, dispatch of undercarriage management specialist and coordination between parts, service and sales departments regarding machine repairs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Works with shop foreman, service supervisor, and parts department to acquire needed information to prepare service quotes for customers.
  • Performs service department quoting activities.
  • Coordinate all department labor needs as requested by internal & external customers.
  • Communicate with customers regarding service activities including reviewing jobs, invoices & making recommendations for future repairs/maintenance.
  • Respond to after-hours request for Service.
  • In person, or over the phone, gather information to answer questions related to quotes.
  • Creates additional charge quotes after service repair work has been started.
  • Supports the customer quoting process of the local Product Support Sales Representative.
  • Formats the quote in a manner conductive to DBS for purposes of open work orders to match quotes.
  • Follow the work order parts in progress to ensure work matches the quote.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provides back-up when service manager is away from store.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
  • Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree from a fully accredited college or technical school; and a minimum of five years of directly related experience in parts or sales, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

The pay range for this position is: $38.59 - $45.34 . We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.
