Job Summary:
The Regional Rental Director is a strategic and results-driven leader responsible for overseeing rental operations across a multi-state region. This role is critical to ensuring operational excellence, driving rental growth, and cultivating a high-performance culture. The Director will lead a team of rental managers and staff, ensuring alignment with Fabick Cat’s business objectives, customer service standards, and safety policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide visionary leadership and direction for the regional rental division, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Develop and execute regional rental strategies that drive profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction.
- Mentor, develop, and inspire rental managers and their teams to achieve peak performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Operational Oversight
- Ensure operational efficiency and consistent execution of rental processes across locations.
- Monitor regional KPIs, financial performance, fleet utilization, and customer metrics to drive improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments (Sales, Service, Parts, Safety, HR) to ensure cohesive operations and service delivery.
Customer & Market Focus
- Build strong relationships with key customers and partners in the region.
- Stay informed on market trends, competition, and customers needs to identify growth opportunities.
- Ensure rental teams provide outstanding customer service and technical support.
Talent Development
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and support career development.
- Lead training initiatives to ensure staff are knowledgeable, motivated, and aligned with Fabick Cat standards.
Financial Management
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and capital plans for rental operations.
- Manage regional rental P&L to meet or exceed profitability targets.
- Optimize fleet investment and lifecycle planning in collaboration with corporate rental and finance teams.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or equivalent direct field experience
- 10+ years of heavy equipment rental industry experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Demonstrated success leading multi-location teams and driving business growth
- Strong business acumen and financial understanding
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned region
Preferred:
- Experience in the heavy equipment rental industry
- Knowledge of Caterpillar products and rental systems (e.g., Integrated Rental Solutions, Salesforce)
