Field Service Technician
Description
- Troubleshoot, test, and diagnose electrical power generators.
- Safely perform machine repairs.
- Inspect, repair, maintain, overhaul, and rebuild engines and power generator components.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Completion of level 2 training program, OR
- Three or more years of experience with electrical power generator service and repair (5kw to 2mg), preferably with Caterpillar equipment, OR
- Graduation from an accredited technical school (minimum two-year program) with an emphasis on power generator equipment.
- Thorough understanding of equipment and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Strong technical service skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with power generation equipment and strong knowledge of DC electrical and machine electronic systems.
- Ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures for repairs and manufacturers’ updates.
- Ability to work in a low-supervised environment and take direction from multiple supervisors.
- Effective communication skills with customers, supervision, and dispatchers, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic math skills.
