JOB SUMMARY:
The Warranty Manager's primary responsibility is to supervise the Assistant Warranty Manager and the DBS Warranty Analysts, providing leadership and support for the overall processing of all warranty claims. This position will oversee the entire DBS warranty process, including submitting claims, organizing receipts, communicating variances, and balancing receivable accounts at year-end. In addition, this position will provide management and best practice support for the Assistant Warranty Manager, as well as offer insight and training on the DBS and Karmak internal processes.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Advise sales, parts, and service management on warranty-related matters to ensure our customers receive fair value while recovering maximum warranty dollars.
- Assure management that all Caterpillar and various other OEM warranty requirements are met daily and warranty issues are closed without delay.
- Provide leadership, share technical expertise, and experience with other team members.
- Create and maintain warranty-related policies, procedures, work instructions, and job aids, and promote their effective and efficient application.
- Assist with reporting and dashboards that are helpful to the Warranty and Service Departments.
- Share best practices and leadership skills with the Assistant Warranty Manager.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Engineering, Business Administration, or related CAT/OEM experience
- Minimum five years’ experience working in a dealership setting, a minimum of two years warranty experience, and a minimum of two years supervisory experience.
- Solid working knowledge of accounting software and database systems used in repair order processing, accounting of receipts, financial statement/data analysis, and variance clearances. Strong PC skills related to cloud-based OEM systems and proficiency with spreadsheet programs, such as MS Excel, are essential. Able to listen to others and communicate effectively. Ability to travel to OEM and Ohio Machinery locations as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
