Field Service Technician - Rapid Response
Description
- Diagnostics and troubleshooting on heavy equipment, including Caterpillar, Weiler, and Allied brands engines and drive-train components, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Perform routine and complex repairs, inspect and maintain equipment, and rebuilding components to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform making parts list and ordering parts, setting up the job for the next Technician to complete the repair.
- Additional duties include servicing Air Conditioning systems, maintaining detailed service records, collaborating with fellow technicians on complex repairs, and adhering to all safety protocols within the shop environment.
- Must have strong capabilities related to using Caterpillar diagnostic tools ET and SIS (Electronic Technician, Service Information System)
- In-depth knowledge of Caterpillar equipment applications, operations, and functions
- Capable of working independently in the field
- Proficient reading and writing skills
- Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude
- Basic computer literacy
- Familiarity with Caterpillar engine and equipment lines
- Expertise in diagnostic, testing, adjustment, and troubleshooting procedures
- Welding experience is a plus
- High School Diploma or GED is required, along with completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power equipment systems, plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in repairing diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, hydraulics, and industrial equipment.
- Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record following Ohio CAT standards
